2005
On the first of June our new album was released (for the time being only available over our
website and over
Indietective.de). The cause: unfortunately
we had to cancel our contract with the not longer existing label “Pandailectric” by mutual agreement and
take things into one’s own hands. We are already scheduling our stage outfit and live set but you just
have to wait a little for a gig….the first reviews of our album turned out pretty positive what is really
encouraging us to go on! With
Namida we found after Steffi's leaving a really good and new voice for our female part
together with huge amounts of energy...

2004
2004 was the year of production. The Album “Rebellion der Schachfiguren”, actually
announced for release in 2004, will be at least our longest work in progress ever!
But not only that, we are expecting to provide a production that will be standing out from the
otherwise really standardised Future-Pop-Electro releases but nevertheless it will be contemporary.
Anyway
we are giving our best! The Zillo Magazine (Issue 6) has published a well-disposed article which you
can
glean
-
here (only in german). In 2004 our friend Sara Noxx released
her Maxi “Colder & Colder” for which we were allowed to deliver a remix.
In our band there was some fluctuation this year too. Our vocalist Steffi is domiciled in Frankfurt/M
in the meantime and no longer an inherent part of our band. How far she will be a part of future productions
cannot be told right now.

2003
In the year 2003 unfortunately there were no concerts at all. Ferdinand and Tony
got in marriage with there girl-friends (very big sorrow for our groupies;) ).
Really important for us was the closure of a new record contract with the label Pandeilectric.
It’s due to the remix of “Die Sonne” which we had offered for download at mp3.de and
shortly after a few days it leaded the charts there (
Song of the day,
Pop-Charts 1st place). Also the song “Nimm mich” (from
2002) reached
top position at the mp3.de-Independent-Charts
these days. Of course you will find both songs on the new album again...

2002
In 2002 we can take a review on a gig in Zurich as the support for
"Psyche". Some of the songs that will be published
on the album “Rebellion der Schachfiguren” in 2004 were written and successfully played in regional clubs
in this year 2002. Over our website we publicised the web-single “Nimm mich”.
|
|
2001
In 2001 we also gave only one concert in the Abart in Zurich which will be in our minds in a really
good
way. There we supported the berlin formation
"Sara Noxx"

2000
2000 rather was a year of reflection. NovaTekk stopped their activities on the
Wave- and
Indie-sector thus the label was gone. On the 17th of November 2000 however there was one
concert in Nuremberg as the support for VNV-Nation at least. Some visitors should likely
remember this concert since Ronan Harris had an injury right before the gig and therefore
we had to play longer than we actually wanted to…

1999
In 1999 we gave five concerts after all – in Hanover, Bochum, Schwabach,
Weissenfels and at the “PC69” in Bielefeld. All five
gigs were well visited and we had a lot of fun presenting our ’99 album their.
adly a long-time member of our band – Klaus Aumayr – left us this year. For example songs
like “Pyramids”, “Dreams of drowning” and “Abducted” were penned by him. His quitting
was an actual loss – best of luck Klaus!:)
|
“Forgotten times” was our technical best produced album so far. Songs like “Time
goes by”,
“In 1999” and “Hol mich ein!” stood very high in favour of our audience. A really big thank you therefore!

1997
On March 22. we gave our
first gig in a foreign country in Wil/Switzerland..
In 1997 our collaboration with DISCORDIA ended and we alternated to NOVATEKK/ERASER. There we prearranged
the third release for 1998. In the same way worth mentioning is that we got to know to one of our most
loyal fans – Alless from Roveredo (Italy) in 1997.

1996
The dream of having a record contract was just fulfilled since problems arrived
for our
label…. Nevertheless the next CD “One of 200.000.000” was produced as agreed upon.
Unfortunately it was only barely promoted and so it perished a bit. The reviews however were
consistently positive and made us look upon the future favourably as well.
|
Malicious tongues could say that we borrowed the concept for our cover (view from the moon towards the
earth) from the Wolfsheim-CD “Spectators” – these guys we want to reply very clearly: our cover is from
1996 that from Wolfsheim from 1999….thus nothing is stolen (at least … guaranteed not from us *g*)

(At
discography you can listen to all of the tracks included on this CD!)
In 96 there was another release specially for a companionship-concert with “Darc
Entries” in Esterhofen near Munich. For the visitors it gave one of 50
limited tapes each with 3 songs of both bands on it.
Tracklist Drunkness:
1. "Out" - 2. "Our world lost in space" (Retinax 5 Remix) - 3. "Welcome to Airbase 51" (Dreamland Mix)

1992
At the beginning of this year our first demo tape „Dust & Atom“ had been released.
Tracklist:
A: Deduction; What is love?; Days of fear; Down; Crash into death
B: Time goes by; She opens her eyes; 1991; Invisible; Invisible (Outro)
From this demo tape are only existing exactly 50 copies, all made bit by bit at home ;)
After Torsten had left the band and the first success took place a small discussion about the band
name began but in the end “The Drunkness” had already taken place in our hearts somehow. And so the band
name hasn’t changed till this day.

At the “Markgrafensaal”-concert we recorded a special tape, on which you can find
some different versions of previously released songs and also some brand new ones:
A: Violence; Crash into death; 1991, Nacht ohne Hoffnung; Interval I; Child of war
B: Interval II; Days of fear; Invisible; What is love? (Short Version); Time goes by; Nameless; What
is love? (Live in Krumpa)
|
|
|
For the sake of completeness it should be mentioned that between the end of 1992
and the beginning of 1993 another tape should have been released. Ten of these tapes were copied and given
away but then … dust of time fell on it…
A: Violence (SOS-Version); The Days of fear; Crash into death; Down; Child of war
B: The time goes by; Dying emotion; Nacht ohne Hoffnung (The Cave-Mix); L. (Instrumental); To the unknown
girl

1991
In January 1991 the duet "The Drunkness" was formed by Riccardo Stueber and his
schoolmate Torsten Michalk. The name was discovered while one of them was browsing thru a german-english
dictionary. There has to be admitted that none of the two band members were concerned about how long the
bandname would fit the musical genre!
The song repertoire only counted three entries at that time:
"What is love?" (by the way the first ever composed song, written in 1989)
"1991" (developed from thoughts on the first war in the persian gulf)
"Dark Night Bonus" (an instrumental, later called "Deduction")
|
|
|
All these pieces of music were composed on one HOHNER-Keyboard from a local store
called "Quelle" and a 2-voice CASIO toy-keyboard!. The first concert took place on the 29th of June 1991
at the "Annaberg-Buchholz Festsaal (Ballroom)". In the same year band-member Ric became acquainted with
Udo who was totally involved to his band "The Severance" at that time. Udo then produced the first studio
recordings of "1991". Nearly at the end of this year there were 9 songs completed - enough for the first
demo tape!
